When I moved to Florida a year ago, I was very bored. I didn't have a license, I didn't have any friends, and worst of all, I didn't have cable. So I found myself passing the time by reading fashion blogs online, trying to pass the time. It was very strange because up until after I graduated high school, I really had no style. I was just your average jeans and t-shirt/tank top kind of gal. I rarely dressed up and if I did it was usually at work so it was nothing special. Once I was out of high school, I realized I didn't care what anyone thought of me any more... I no longer had these group of people that would see me everyday that even though I denied it, tried to impress. I started dressing the way I wanted to dress, a little at a time. Then I started getting into vintage which sparked my interest in reading fashion blogs. When I moved to Florida, all my wardrobe inhibitions went out the window. If I want to wear a fancy dress to school, then I do it. No matter how overdressed I look. I attribute my new found wardrobical freedom to a few ladies whose blogs I faithfully read, and wanted to share with anyone who might be reading this!
Galadarling She is amazing in every way possible. She teaches gals (and guys too!) to truly embrace themselves as they are and everything they can be. She wears fabulous clothing, lives in fabulous places and just has an all around fabulous aura. Her "things i love thursday" segment is a true testement to positivity. I strive to be more like her everyday... not in a superficial way but in the way to truly live to be my best self, reguardless of what other people think.
Painfullyhip is a blog started by two lovely ladies named Eve & Amber which showcases the best mix of current and vintage fashions. The posts in their blog show amazing ladies who use thrifting and vintage fashion to create green (enviro-friendly) and beautiful wardrobes on a small budget. My favourite segment of theirs is "Thrift Star Of The Day" which uses wardrobe remix to find stylishly dressed ladies all over the world who use thrifting to create signature looks.
The Fashion-Y Blog was started by a girl named Kori after she became sick and was forced to spend many of her days at home. It's a mixture of outfit posts, designer talk, and runway beauties. I found this blog when I was looking up pixie cuts, and her post on this inspired me to cut off all my hair. I love how this blog encompasses all things fashion... Kori constantly keeps me updated on all the designers creating affordable lines at places such a Target, making luxury fashion accessable to everyone.
I could go on for days describing the blogs I love, but that would bore you. Instead, here are some honorable mentions:
