skin cleaning morning!

Today is such a bizarre day. It was gross out this morning, I mean really foggy and icky and basically very Florida like. I finally took down the Christmas lights and it was so windy I thought that I was going to fly away ala The Wizard Of Oz… or the very least fall off the ladder and suffer a very very painful injury which would result me going to the emergency room (when my aunt actually found me at 7 o’clock tonight) but being out of luck since I don’t have insurance (Ok, getting off topic here…). Anyways, I come back inside and I swear the sky just opened up and it poureeddddd. And now it is over. It’s ok I guess, we can use the rain. I just hate it, it makes me unmotivated!

Anyway onto more interesting manners. Today I finally tried using plain white sugar as an exfoliate which is supposed to be the best natural exfoliate you can use. My skin really isn’t that bad, it’s mostly the constant redness that is annoying, but this is easily fixed with a little green cover-up from everyday minerals:

It works amazing, and it's eight dollars for a huge compact of it! Plus, since it's mineral, it lasts forever. I'm still on my free sample which looks like this little thing but I swear it's like the days worth of oil that lasted eight days. It's seriously worth it to get the combination package on everydayminerals. I think it's about thirty dollars and you get to pick 6 things I think, seriously so worth it.

Anyway, after spending 10 minutes trying to get the sugar off my face, I used vinegar as a toner which is also supposed to be amazing. You are really supposed to use apple cider vinegar, but we only had plain white vinegar so I substituted. Well, it worked amazingly well! It didn’t help too much with the redness but all of the icky dead skin is gone off my face and it feels so smooth from the vinegar! I must warn you though, the vinegar burns if you have any spots on your face (which I did)! But the results are well worth it. The best part about this is it’s basically free! Pretty much everyone has sugar and vinegar in their house. If you don’t, it’s a cheap investment.

I’ve been pretty neglectful with this blog, I don’t know why. I guess I just haven’t been in a writing mood, but hopefully that will change in the new year :)

getting started!

I've had personal blogs on and off since blogging first started, but never before have I decided to make one a little less personal. Maybe it's because there is absolutely nothing going on in my personal life, and I have some free time on my hands. If nothing else, this blog will be good practice writing, since thats eventually the avenue I'd like to persue.

Cher's Melody is going to be based on my main interests (fashion and music) along with some current events thrown in. There are alot of blogs out there, but I hope I can make mine generally interesting so maybe others will get something out of it.

For my first post I want to discuss something relatively simple: my favourite band. I'm not going to give away the band, because that's really not the point of this post. I just want to say that I think it's amazing to feel so passionate for something such as music; it can really make you feel alive. There is nothing better then having a favourite band that you can really truly relate to, a band that gives you a rush everytime you hear their songs; being a fan of a band can also give you this intense bond with others, as I have experienced throughout my eleven years as an intense fan of someone :D I feel sorry for those that never truly understand the joy of great music, or the purpose that you can when you follow a band like a crazy person. So what's your favourite band? How did you discover them and how long have you felt this way?

So, that's about all for now; short but sweet! I should be doing homework but instead I'm doing this :) Hopefully this is just the start of many blog adventures to come!
